What’s New in Sage 300 Software & Fixed Assets 2025

In case you missed the announcements earlier in the year, Sage has made significant investments in the Sage 300 software that were rolled out in the 2025 release. Sage 300 users are thankfully in for some solid quality-of-life improvements that will help make your daily tasks just a little bit smoother – something we can always use more of!

So, without further ado, let’s see what’s new…

Faster, Smarter, and More User-Friendly

The latest Sage 300 software releases (both Product Update 1 and 2) bring several key enhancements, which are all designed to streamline your workflow and improve efficiency. Here’s our top 8 that really stand out:

  1. General Ledger Gets a Boost
Ever wish you could quickly pull up transaction details without a bunch of mouse clicks? Well, you’re in luck. Now, you can just double-click an account in the General Ledger Chart of Accounts, and boom – your transaction list appears. Did someone say instant clarity?

If you even need to share GL transactions outside of Sage, now in addition to printing, you can export them directly to Excel (or another external program) for further analysis.

The best part? These updates are available on both web screens and the desktop version.
  2. Help at Your Fingertips
Ever feel like you’re clicking in circles trying to find support resources? With the new update, you won’t be expected to go on a scavenger hunt every time you need help. The Sage Information Center is now one click away from the System Manager on web screens.

    You’ll have quick access to:
  • Product updates
  • Technical documentation
  • Release notes
  • The customer portal
  • A way to submit your own product improvement ideas (because who knows better than the end-users, right?). Just look at Starbucks' "My Starbucks Idea," which received over 150,000 customer suggestions in its first five years, leading to hundreds of implemented innovations. While we hope Sage’s ratio is a little higher, that still shows a lot of improvements directly thanks to input from users
  1. Payroll Updates
There are also some updates to U.S. and Canadian payroll functions – if you have a minute, the details can be found in this short video.
  2. HR Integration & Security Enhancements
The HR integration now syncs more smoothly between the Sage 300 software and Sage HR, cutting down on manual adjustments. Also, encrypted activity logging has been added, making it easier (and safer) to share troubleshooting data with Customer Support when needed.
  3. Web Screens Just Got Friendlier
A new “favorites” feature lets you star your go-to web screens for quicker access. No more hunting through long menus to find the ones you use daily. Plus, performance has been optimized across the board, so screens load faster, and workflows feel smoother.
  4. Bank Feeds Onboarding
Bank feeds have been modernized to align with today’s tech requirements. When you set them up, you’ll go through a quick onboarding process that uses your Sage ID. If you’re already using bank feeds, there’s not to worry about as your existing setup will migrate behind the scenes once you’ve gone through the onboarding step.
  5. Sage Intelligence Gets Smarter
There were two improvements to Sage Intelligence this round:
  • Auto-Bulk Import: Sage Intelligence can now detect new reports automatically when you launch the software, show you a clear progress screen, and even let you cancel the import if needed.
  • Report Scheduling: No more setting reminders on your phone! Schedule reports to run daily or weekly at the exact time you choose and have them saved where you need them.
  1. Program Fixes
As always, this update includes fixes for known issues to keep everything running smoothly.

Sage Fixed Assets 2025.1 (January 2025)

If you’re using Sage Fixed Assets, you may have already come across some big changes in the 2025.1 release. Let’s take a closer look at what’s different.

A Whole New Asset Planning Module

New year, new Asset Planning module! The Asset Planning application has been completely rebuilt with modern technology. You can expect better performance, security, and a sleek, responsive interface, and (finally!) easier to navigate.

Smarter Workflow Improvements

Here’s a fun fact: Although smaller companies have been slower to add workflow automation, those that have reported more success (65%) than larger organizations (55%). Sage Fixed Assets 2025.1 embraces this trend with smarter, time-saving enhancements. Let’s check it out below:

  • The system now remembers the last group you viewed in the Asset List, so you’re not constantly filtering the same info over and over.
  • Image rotation capabilities – because no one likes dealing with sideways pictures of their assets.

Sage Fixed Assets New Ally

A 2023 Gartner study shows that 80% of companies use AI to improve customer experience, and Sage is no exception. This new AI-powered assistant includes a Chat button that connects you directly to a live support agent. No more battling with automated responses when all you need are quick answers.
