If your staff dreads month-end close because it still feels more manual than modern, you’re going to love what Sage Intacct rolled out in 2025 Release 3. In August 2025, Sage Intacct introduced a fresh wave of intelligent tools that make finance operations faster, smarter, and more efficient. We’re talking automation, smarter lists, and accounting AI that doesn’t just “assist”, it anticipates.
In Part 1, we’re highlighting three standout updates (and why you’ll love them).
Closing the books isn’t exactly anyone’s favorite hobby. It’s stressful, it’s repetitive, and something always gets stuck waiting on someone’s approval. That’s why the new Close Workspace in Sage Intacct is such a powerful addition, and with recent research finding that 84% of finance leaders want to close the books faster, we think you’ll like this one.
Built for teams in the Sage Copilot Close Automation Early Adopter Program, this new centralized workspace makes the close process faster, clearer, and a lot more collaborative.
Here’s a short teaser:
It’s like your month-end close grew a brain of its own. Close Workspace automatically calculates the target start and completion date for each task based on information that you enter in the task template. Plus, you can mix pre-built Copilot-assisted tasks with your own custom tasks, so whether you’re handling basic bank recs or multi-entity consolidations, it’s all right there, mapped and tracked.
Bonus news: The Close Automation features powered by Sage Copilot (including the close assistant and variance analysis) are now generally available with R3. So even if you weren’t an early adopter, you’re now officially in the future.
Remember the old Sage Intacct lists? They got the job done, but we know that scrolling through them sometimes felt like digging through an Excel file from 2011.
Enter Enhanced Lists (now the default view in 2025 R3) and they’re everything you wish your data tables could be. These new lists let you filter, customize, and search with actual finesse.
Here’s the highlight reel:
Enhanced Lists take what used to be tedious and turn it into something… dare we say… enjoyable? (Yeah, we said it.)
Ever get a vendor invoice that covers three different purchase orders and ten line items, all slightly mismatched? That’s where Sage Intacct 2025 R3 flexes its AI muscles. It’s no surprise that a recent Gartner survey found that 90% of CFOs plan to increase their AI budgets in 2024, with none expecting to scale back. Sage Intacct is clearly leaning into that momentum. Now, you can combine multiple documents or specific line items into a single purchasing transaction. So, when that one vendor sends a kitchen-sink invoice, you can consolidate it cleanly in one go.
Here’s the cool part: the accounting AI-driven line-level matching (currently in early adopter phase) takes care of the grunt work. It automatically matches each line in the vendor document to the right transaction, flags discrepancies (like vendor, price, or quantity mismatches), and even learns from your corrections. Yup, you read that right. Your ERP just got smarter with every invoice.
Sage Intacct 2025 R3 isn’t about flashy features for the sake of a new blog post. It’s about making finance workflows faster, more transparent, and a little more fun. With automation speeding up financial processes 85 times faster than manual workflows, we think these improvements will have an immediate impact on productivity, accuracy, and team morale. From Close Workspace helping you tackle month-end chaos, to Enhanced Lists cutting through the clutter, to AI-driven purchasing that actually saves time… this release proves Sage Intacct is still leading the pack in intelligent automation.
