June 30, 2011 U.S. Payroll Tax Updates for Sage ERP Accpac

Tax Table Updates for Sage ERP Accpac U.S. payroll customers for June 30, 2011 is now available for download. Important updates to tax withholding and magnetic media changes will be required for some states per below:

June 30, 2011, Tax Update
This section describes the payroll tax changes for the June 30, 2011 tax update. If we receive additional income tax changes for 2011, new tax update and documentation will be available. Use the June 30, 2011 tax update to run your payroll for 2011 until you receive a later tax update (if any).
 
Federal Income Tax Changes
There are no federal legislative changes in this update. 
 
State (or Local) Income Tax Changes
This tax update contains changes in the state (or local) income tax withholding tables for the following, effective January 1, 2011, unless otherwise noted:

• North Dakota has adjusted the withholding rates.
• The City of Yonkers withholding hotfix released in May 2011 is incorporated in this tax update.  Beginning with tax year 2011, the Yonkers resident personal income tax surcharge increased from 10% to 15%. This change was effective May 1, 2011.
• Arizona:  Starting Jan 1, 2011 the state has removed all compensation requirements. Therefore, all rates are available for all compensation levels. The Required Rate option is available and the rate is unchanged from the previous tax update.  If you have any employees using this option please adjust it to the selection on their Arizona A-4 Form or you may have employees that are underwithheld. The Required Rate option is being adjusted to the Default Rate.  The Default Rate is 2.7% of gross taxable wages.

Changes to the Quarterly Wage On Disk(ette) Function
The Payroll Quarterly Wage On Disk(ette) function has been modified to reflect the reporting specification changes made by Florida, Indiana, and Kansas. If you need details about the file layout and requirements, refer to the reporting specifications issued by your government agencies and the Quarterly Wage on Diskette document.

These above changes will be incorporated into the Sage ERP Accpac June 30, 2011 updates, which will be available to download on Sage Customer Portal website as of June 23, 2011.

The following versions will be available: US Payroll Customers Version 5.5N, Version 5.6J, Version 6.0E
