Erica Burles, President of Equation Technologies, founded the San Diego firm in January, 2001. She is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with deep domain experience accounting, review, and tax services... expertise acquired while working in accounting firms. As a Senior Accpac Consultant, Erica worked with Equation Technologies Toronto, Canada, providing in-depth needs analyses and scoping out customization requirements that resulted in constant business improvements for her clients.
Erica's combined accounting and business expertise enables her to streamline a company's processes while implementing new accounting, CRM, or ERP systems. She consistently leads her team to deliver implementations on time and on budget. Erica conducts rigorous needs analysis and discovery to determine if there is a proper fit between the client, company, and the software package being considered. She is relentlessly honest and open with clients about the possibilities and limitations of each package. Darby Schafer built his extensive accounting software and top-notch accounting practices expertise in both large and small firms. He worked as an accountant and as an auditor for large corporations, major government contractors, and also owned his own small businesses. Darby has a first-rate understanding of the challenges of both owners and managers, gained during his experience solving the problems of high transaction volumes, meeting stringent auditing requirements and developing accounting solutions for businesses of all sizes.
Darby joined Equation in 2001 as a Partner and brings his accomplished, straightforward problem-solving approach to each implementation, custom development, and business analysis project.
