Risks of Not Upgrading
No security updates.
There will be no access to security updates which opens the potential for data breaches and business interruptions.
Higher maintenance costs.
Maintaining legacy servers, firewalls, intrusion systems, etc., without technical support from Microsoft will get expensive very quickly.
Given the state of malware and nefarious exploits found on the internet these days, it is wise to begin planning your migration and upgrade to the currently supported versions of these two Microsoft products sooner than later.
Fortunately, there are a couple options. The most obvious solution is to upgrade any existing systems using either of these products with the latest versions to ensure a constant supply of security updates for your systems.
One option you may not be aware of is the ability to migrate your Sage 300 system to Equation Cloud Hosting. By migrating to an Equation Technologies hosted platform, you leave the underlying operating system and database engine updates, as well as your Sage upgrades, to us and just use your Sage 300 system without the need to concern yourself with operating system or database compatibility, security updates, backups, or availability.
